Something to check out

As some of you may know, one of my personal goals this year is tied to running. As well, I do most of my training through school, usually running a few times a week. I had a run this past week, Wednesday specifially. It was probably the most difficult run I've had in a while, as running 7km in 30° weather isn't exactly enjoyable. However, even though I suffered minor heat exhaustion, I finished my training run. One of the things that helped me finished was, simple as it may sound, a motivational video presented to my team by our coach. I found it pretty interesting and wanted to share it with everyone here. So, here it is.

Update no. 2

One of my goals this year is to read 7 french novels. I'm happy to say I've recently finished my first. I know, it may seem like I'm behind on my goal, as it's 14% done, and we're a quarter of the way into our year. So, by numbers I'm behind. However, that's only because my book was about 600 pages long. So, if I keep up my progress, and read more reasonably sized books, this goal shouldn't be too difficult. Also, for anyone who read my last blog, in which I promised to post on time (Saturdays), I'd like to let it be known that I was out camping this weekend, and only got home today. I know it's more responsible to post early as opposed to later, so I'll do that next time.

A Blog on Blogs

I've recently realized just how important being under a little pressure all the time really is. When trying to achieve anything, if it's not always on your mind, it's easy to put it off. This is exactly what happened with writing my blog this week. I didn't keep it in my mind, then I forgot about it, until it was late. One of the most useful resources I have daily access to is my sister. To my understanding, she hasn't missed a day of blogging yet. In order to keep my blogs written more consistently, I'll be sure to talk with her and post when she does. (I've already talked to her about this, she's not being put up to something she doesn't know about.) As well, I've noticed reading other people's blogs is an amazing inspiration to write my own. I'll be sure to tweak my notification settings so I'll know to write my blog when others do.

Putting First Things First

Tomorrow, I have a Provincial Achievement Test. In my opinion, this is a little disappointing. On Mondays and Wednesdays, my sister and I always stay for the advanced teen/adult class. Most days, we try to stay the extra hour for the intermediate class. This is always a nice time to relax after the first class but still work on training. Today, I had to come home after the first class, as I have a big test next morning. This gave me the idea to write about priorities. That's a bit ironic, however, as I'm writing this blog a day late. My main point is that we must always try and put our priorities in order. No matter how boring it may seem, it takes great discipline to always put first things first. Especially now, with summer rolling in, I've been having to turn down some rather fun opportunities in order to put higher priorities first. I need to apply this mindset to all aspects of my life, including school, home, friends, and Kung Fu. In order to accomplish anything of no...
